Going with the flow

Going with the flow

This blog is a little bit about life right now, and a little bit of a 'prepare yourselves because omgosh...'

Life continues to surprise us. My daughter continues to grow and show us new ways to love and enjoy happiness. She is currently in a Rhino brace for her hip dysplasia. By the time this blog is posted we'll be about 4 weeks in of the (currently) 3 month journey.
It was something we were and were not prepared for. She fit all the statistics when she was born for hip dysplasia to be an eventuality (she was a premmie, our first child, a girl, and breech) so our nurses and doctors were very good at prepping us mentally. We thought we dodged it when her scans at 3 months came back clear, but around her first birthday we noticed a few things. DM me on Instagram or Facebook if you would like to know what it was we noticed, as I'm just move the story along here to get to the good stuff.

We spoke to our maternal child health nurse, then our GP, and then a specialist. It was a pretty quick trek from diagnosis to treatment, and while we survived it  what did not survive was our time. Suddenly we have adjusted activites, or are taking more time to do things with her - getting dressed, getting in and our of a car, or pram, settling for sleep, sleeping overnight without interruption, how we are playing together, how we are learning together, how we have meals together...

Ultimately it is a small moment in time she won't remember and we will never regret. Right now though, it has meant I have had to alter what I had planned to do with this business during November and December. So we are going with the flow and rolling with what is to come the next few months.

Do not worry, I am not going anywhere.

Which brings me to said announcements and how they relate to time:

  1. This first part is the kind-of-a-bummer part. I had planned to release 3 Christmas items, one of which is out now (our starry starry decorations!) I have come to terms that the other two products are not going to happen. I have some personal projects scheduled that must take precedence, and I will happily share the progress of them online with you. I am sorry that the other two will not see the light of day this year, but it's okay because they can be slated for 2023 with ease.
  2. I am not taking any further fun away! We are going to be having our one and only flash sale which will be exclusive to our emailing list buddies. The flash sale will run for 24 hours from 4pm Friday 18th November to 4pm Saturday 19th November. You can only access it with the discount code I will be sending to all those on our email list - so no better time to sign up than now! We will have a more general sale just after Christmas as well, but I guarantee it will not be as good a deal as this one.
  3. I have had an incredible opportunity arise for Thymble Thyme. I think it is probably one of those things every business owner dreams of when they first begin. It is... my first wholesale order! *sets off many party poppers!* I won't say what, or where, or when yet, but I will be active on social media about it when it happens. Stay tuned in on Insta, TikTok and Facebook to see!

Laughter and Sunshine!
